Mechanical Macro

Private programs · RIAs, wealth managers & advisory teams

Your clients are asking about the debt. I'll come teach your team the real answer.

The same first-principles macro curriculum from the Miami retreat, delivered on-site at your firm — a keynote, a workshop day, or a two-day intensive, shaped around your book of business.

Why firms bring me in

Every advisor on your team fields the same three questions — and most answer them with a model that has been wrong for seventy years.

“Is the national debt going to blow up?”

Your team leaves able to explain what actually constrains a currency issuer — and why the number on the debt clock is not the risk clients think it is.

“Should I be in cash until rates settle?”

The yield curve, Fed tooling, QE and QT built from the plumbing up — so allocation conversations rest on mechanics rather than headlines.

“Is inflation coming back?”

How firms actually set prices, what genuinely causes inflation, and how it's measured — the difference between a defensible view and a guess.

The result is a team that speaks about the macro environment with one shared, coherent framework — in review meetings, in prospect pitches, and in the quarterly letter.

No economics background is assumed. Everything is built from balance sheets and first principles, with your firm's own portfolios and client questions as the working examples.

Formats

Four ways to run it.

Same six branches of curriculum, different depth. I travel to you; continental U.S. travel is included in the fee.

  1. 90 minutes

    The Keynote

One argument, delivered end to end: why monetary sovereignty reframes debt, growth, and crisis. Ideal for a partner meeting, an all-hands, or a client event.

    $15,000

    Up to 200 attendees

  2. Half day

    The Workshop

Three branches, chosen with you — typically money creation, sovereign debt, and inflation — taught interactively with your team's live client questions worked through in the room.

    $30,000

Up to 40 · workbooks included

  3. Two days

    The Intensive

All six branches in the right order — the full retreat curriculum compressed into two working days at your office, with a closing session on how it changes what your firm says and does.

    $60,000

Up to 25 · workbooks included

  4. Three – four days

    The Private Retreat

Your firm takes a full cohort — the Miami format at The Plymouth on your own dates, or at a destination of your choosing. Sessions in the morning, the afternoons yours.

    Quoted

    12 – 20 · venue at cost

Fees cover preparation, delivery, materials, and continental U.S. travel. International engagements are quoted with travel at cost. Multi-office and multi-date programs are discounted.

A second use for it

Host it for your clients, not just your team.

The keynote can just as easily be run as a client and prospect event — a CFA charterholder from outside the firm explaining the monetary system, with no product to sell. It gives your advisors a reason to invite the households they've been trying to reach for a year.

  • Invitation copy and a one-page description you can send under your own brand.
  • A moderated Q&A your advisors introduce, so the relationship stays theirs.
  • Compliance-friendly by construction: education, no products, no recommendations.

How it works

Three weeks from call to classroom.

  1. Step one

    Scoping call

Thirty minutes on your team, your clients, and which questions keep coming back.

  2. Step two

    Proposal

Format, date, agenda, and fee in writing within three business days.

  3. Step three

    Tailoring

A short intake from attendees, then I rebuild the examples around your book and mandates.

  4. Step four

    On-site

I fly in the evening before. You provide a room and a screen; I bring everything else.

What you get

  • Live instruction tailored to your firm's client base and mandates.
  • A printed reference workbook for every attendee, plus the slide set afterward.
  • A short client-facing explainer your advisors can hand to households.
  • A follow-up Q&A call for the team, thirty days out.

What you provide

  • A room that seats everyone comfortably, with a screen or large display.
  • Protected calendar time — half days work far better than lunch hours.
  • Ten minutes from each attendee on the intake questionnaire.
  • Compliance review of any client-facing invitation, on your letterhead.

Questions

Practical matters.

Where will you travel?

Anywhere in the continental U.S., with travel included in the fee. Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and international engagements are quoted with travel at cost. If your team is split across offices, we can run the same program twice on consecutive days at a reduced second-day fee. Three weeks' notice is usually enough to get a date on the calendar.

Will you say anything my compliance team will hate?

No. This is education on how the monetary system works — no products, no recommendations, no performance claims. Slides go to your compliance team ahead of any client-facing session, and I'll work within your review process.

Can you run it remotely?

The keynote works well over video. The workshop and intensive don't — the value is in the argument being pressure-tested in the room. For distributed teams I'd rather fly to one office and gather everyone there.

We'd rather just send two people to Miami.

Perfectly reasonable — the February 2027 cohort holds twelve seats and firms often send one or two people first. See retreat pricing, then bring me in for the wider team once you've seen the material.
